16 Channel Line Input Expander for myMix System
IEX-16L
The IEX-16L is a 16-channel input expander for the myMix system. Equipped with two DB25 connectors, it allows the
connection of up to 16 balanced line-level signals that can be fed from devices such as mixing consoles or external
microphone pre-amps. IEX-16L and a single myMix unit can be connected without the need for a switch.
The IEX-16L can be configured through any myMix device on the network, including input channel naming and stereo linking.
IEX-16L inputs are available as named channels for every myMix in the network. Unused inputs can be disabled. The local
inputs on myMix units can be used in combination with the signals of any number of IEX-16L. If the total channel count is 16 (=
8 multicast pairs) or less a standard 100Mbs non-managed switch can be used. Each myMix can control a maximum of 16
channels by selecting 8 multicast pairs from available network channels, allowing the ability to tailor the unit to the specific
needs of each user. These pairs can be two dual mono, or one stereo signal. A network operating more than 16 audio
channels (8 multicast pairs) requires a switch that has IGMP snooping capabilities.
*The total number of audio channels on the network is dependent upon the capacity of the switch. Input signals are streamed in pairs as
multicast packets. A typical value is 256 multicast groups, which would allow 512 audio channels on the network.
Individual line level signals, from
external pre amps or mixing console :
channel direct outputs and/or
submixes.
Optional local inputs
on any myMix device
myMix and IEX-16L are connected to an Fast Ethernet switch. Inputs are fed to the system via IEX-16L and/or via the local inputs on myMix. For more than
16 audio channels on the network a managed switch with IGMP Snooping capabilities is required.
